Sweep Rowing or Sculling?
Don’t know the difference? In sweep rowing, each rower holds one oar. In sculling, each rower holds two oars, or “sculls.”
Middle School Sculling Lessons
This is a four day summer day camp for ages 10-14 to introduce basic skills required for sculling. No prior experience or equipment needed, but all participants MUST be able to swim. Participants may schedule multiple sessions throughout the summer. Monday – Thursday. 6 spots per session.

Youth Rowing Lessons Level I
This is a four day summer day camp for ages 14-18 to introduce the basics of sweep rowing. No prior experience needed, however, all participants MUST be able to swim. Space is limited. After this class, you’re ready for Atomic Rowing’s Level 2 Rowing Lessons. Monday – Thursday. 16 spots per session.

Youth Rowing Lessons Level II
This is a four day summer day camp for ages 14-18 to pick up where Level I left off, and continues to develop fundamentals. No prior experience or equipment needed, however, all participants MUST be able to swim. Participants will focus on boat balance, handle speed, stroke development, and simultaneous teamwork. It is not uncommon for participants to spend more than one lesson to master these skills. Students who complete Level II will be prepared for the Atomic Rowing Novice Program. Monday – Thursday. 24 spots per session.

MORE INFO:
- Wear comfortable shorts (boys – try to avoid super long basketball stype shorts that might get caught in the equipment), t-shirt or tank top, sneakers, and a water bottle. If you have long hair, you will want to pull it back into a ponytail or barrette.
- Be sure and wear sunscreen! Some folks also like to row with a hat and/or sunglasses on bright days (optional).
