The coaches just returned from being on the water and have made the call to cancel racing this weekend. With wind/water conditions on the threshold and air temps under freezing through most of the day, it is simply unsafe for athletes. Additionally, wind is coming from the North which is the worst direction because it builds momentum as it moves down the course. When wind can blow unobstructed over water for longer distances it creates lots of rolling waves and momentum which is extremely dangerous. Any other direction of wind that does not involve South or North on the lake is row-able at 5-8 MPH, but we are not so lucky this morning.
