Membership
- Membership in Oak Ridge Rowing Association (ORRA) is open to anyone.
- The Board of Director's of the OakRidge Rowing Association reserves
the right to deny membership to anyone who does not following
the Rules and Standards of the organization.
- 12 month membership for those plan to be an active participant in the club's activities with full club privileges
- Dues must be pay by February 1, before exercising any membership privilege. Your membership becomes INACTIVE at the point that your dues are not current.
Privileges
- Full members who are vested and over the age of 18, when certified, will be given a key to the Boathouse.
- Members have
ORRA voting rights.
Members are
urged to lock the Boathouse when they are on the water or
when they leave.
Members may
use "Club" boats or equipment (not privately owned)
and may row anytime except during darkness or foggy conditions.
- Includes the use of club’s rowing and fitness equipment, both during scheduled practices, and to take out on your own
- Coaching and
training classes are available to Members as scheduled by
the Coach(s) and/or Manager. Sculling lessons must be arranged
by appointment with a volunteer instructor. Members who
are interested in sculling lessons should contact the Coach
for scheduling times.
Responsibilities
- Payment of Annual
Dues is required for continued membership. Dues must be
current to participate in ORRA activities.

Each Member
is responsible for the safety and security of the Boathouse
and the equipment stored there, as well as their fellow
Members. Members are urged to lock the Boathouse when they
are on the water or when they leave.
- Each Member
is responsible to report maintenance issues and for the
general appearance of the Boathouse and the equipment stored
there. Members are urged to attend Boathouse cleanup days
and keep the Boathouse in presentable manner when they leave.

- Members and
their families are encouraged to participate in Regattas
and the Master's and Junior's Programs as volunteers and/or
competitors.
- The basic rules
of rowing safety must be followed.
- Volunteer hours are required! You must sign up for at least 2 regattas during the year, as well as two additional work party or cleaning session

ADULT SINGLE MEMBERSHIP
- Individual membership with full club privileges.
- Members age 21 as of December 31 of the current year
- Able to hold position on the ORRA Board of Directors
- Voting membership (1 vote)
- Boathouse Key (1 key)
- Social events
- Use of rowing equipment and fitness equipment
- Boat Storage authorized (fee not included in Membership)
- Regatta Registration
- Discount on registration to ORRA regattas (OR Dogwood, OR Sprints, Secret City HR)
- Rowing Classes and Clinics
- Discount per class or clinic hosted by ORRA including Learn-to-Row.
ADULT FAMILY MEMBERSHIP
- Group12 month membership for those plan to be an active participant in the club's activities with full club privileges
- Members age 21 as of December 31 of the current year
- Includes the use of club’s rowing and fitness equipment, both during scheduled practices, and to take out on your own
- Able to hold position on the ORRA board directors
- Voting membership (2 votes)
- Boathouse Key (2 keys)
- Social events
- Use of rowing equipment and fitness equipment
- Boat Storage authorized (fee not included in membership)
- Regatta Registration
- Discount on registration to ORRA regattas (OR Dogwood, OR Sprints, Secret City HR)
- Rowing Classes and Clinics
- Discount per class or clinic hosted by ORRA including Learn-to-Row.
- Eligible to participate ORRA rowing classes, camps and programs.
- ORRA Junior Program eligible to enroll youth (12-18)
- $125 discount on enrolment in the Junior Program
- Members in this program must be accompanied or supervised by a designated coach or a qualified member in any membership category as long as they are at least 21 years of age.
- Travel, Uniform and Regatta fee additional charge
- Learn to Row Classes
- These introductory classes are eight sessions.
- Includes coaching and use of club boats & equipment
- Prospective full members should take one of these classes before joining the club as a full member.
- 20% of Learn-to-Row fee will be applied to the dues for full club membership.
- Junior Summer Camps
- ORRA offers two introductory summer classes. These introductory classes are eight sessions, held over a two week period.
- Discount on ORRA Junior Summer Camps
COLLEGE Membership
- Individual 12 month membership for those plan to be an active participant in the club's activities with full club privileges
- Member must be a full-time currently enrolled student.
- Members age 18 as of December 31 of the current year
- Able to hold position on the ORRA board directors
- Voting membership (1 vote)
- Boathouse Key (1 key)
- Social events
- Use of rowing equipment and fitness equipment
- Boat Storage authorized (fee not included in Membership)
- Regatta Registration
- Discount on registration to ORRA regattas (OR Dogwood, OR Sprints, Secret City HR)
- Rowing Classes and Clinics
- Discount per class or clinic hosted by ORRA including Learn-to-Row.
Adult Non-Rower
- Individual 12 month membership for those plan to be an active participant in the club's activities with full club privileges
- Members age 21 as of December 31 of the current year
- Able to hold position on the ORRA board directors
- Voting membership (1 vote)
- Use of fitness equipment ONLY.
- NO use of Rowing Equipment
- Social events
- Adult Coxswains are eligible to register in this category.
- Membership is available for individuals in recognition of the contribution that coxing affords club members.
- Coxswains must be willing to be identified as such and be available on a reasonable basis to cox.
- Coxswain members may row on an occasional basis.
- All other membership rules apply to coxswains, and the Rowing Chair and the Board of Directors must approve inclusion in this category.
Non-Member Participant (required if you are participate in ORRA programs with out full membership)
- Individual 12 month affiliation for those plan to be an active participant in the club's activities without full club privileges.
- Participants must be age 21 as of December 31 of the current year
- Dues must be paid before exercising any membership privilege.
- Social events
- Eligible to participate ORRA rowing classes, camps and programs.
- ORRA Junior Program eligible to enroll youth (12-18)
- The junior program is a ten (10) month (August 15-June 15) competitive course for those that plan to be an active participant.
- Members in this program must be between the ages of 12 and 18 years old as of December 31 of the academic year.
- Members in this program must be accompanied or supervised by a designated coach or a qualified member in any membership category as long as they are at least 21 years of age.
- Travel, Uniform and Regatta fee additional charge
- Learn to Row Classes
- These introductory classes are eight sessions.
- Includes coaching and use of club boats & equipment
- Prospective full members should take one of these classes before joining the club as a full member.
- 10% of Learn-to-Row fee will be applied to the dues for full club membership.
- Junior Summer Camps
- These introductory classes are eight sessions.
