Oak Ridge Rowing offers an Adult Rowing Program called the Oak Ridge Masters. Masters are adults 22+ who row competitively and recreationally. Adults who are between 18-22 are considered college rowers, but can row with the masters recreationally. Many people new to the sport do not realize the word "master" refers only to the age of the rower and is not an indication of ones rowing prowess.

master1ORRA organizes all sweep and sculling for adults in East Tennessee offering athletes the opportunity to train and race in regattas all over North America, through competitive teams that foster camaraderie, fitness and technique. ORRA also offers a recreational program in organized Summer Rowing League, Learn to Row and the Sculling Program. ORRA currently serves over 500adult rowers.

How to Join
Rowing attracts a wide range of ages and interest. Whether you are interested in adding to your workout routine or trying a sport for the first time, Oak Ridge Rowing encourages you to get your feet wet! All you need to do is complete the online registration, and sign a waiverfill out 3 forms. Click here for more information...

What age should I be?
Rowing in the USA is open to almost all ages. In Massachusetts, you have to be over 12 but there is no upper age limit. You need to be able to carry equipment to the water and get in and out of the rowing shell, but age is never a factor. Below, are the age categories:

* 12-18 - Youth
* 19-27 - Open
* 27-99 - Masters (It's just an age category, not a skill assessment!)
