Women’s Water Weekend – Sept 12-14, 2008
The Second Annual Women’s Water Weekend at the Oak Ridge Marina, is designed for women of all ages and ability to get outside, be on the water, meet new friends and learn TWO new sports.  The best part of the weekend is that NO EXPIRENCE is REQUIRED.  Rowing as well as Dragon Boating will be highlighted with special emphasis on team work, and development.

Dragon Boat Clinic – Sept 13, 2008                   

Race – Oct 4th
ORRA is proud to invite the owners of Race Dragon Boats from Knoxville to Oak Ridge for two Dragon Boat Clinics and an exhibition race on October 4th.  Have you ever wanted to get in a boat and just paddle?  Imagine being in a 22 person canoe with a drummer a steersman and 20 of your closest friends going down Melton Hill Lake.  What a Thrill!!  Clinics are designed for those people looking for a new sport, new thrill, new experience and a whole lot of fun.  NO EXPERIENCE is required and all equipment is provided.
Anyone participating in the clinic on Sept 13th is also invited to RACE on October 4th during the Secret City Head Race.  This will be a great opportunity to test what you learned and put your boat next to another for speed!

Adult Clinic for any person over the age of 18 will be asked to come to the morning session on Sept 13th from 9-noon.

Youth Clinic is for anyone under the age of 18.  The Youth Clinic is perfect for church groups, Boy/Girl Scouts, Neighborhood Friends, other sports teams looking for a team building exercise or anyone just wanting to try a new activity on the water.

bulletIntro Sculling

Class meets Tuesday/Thursday afternoon at 5:30pm.  Class is taught by Mark Wilson and all are welcome to register and attend.  No Experience Needed. 
Cost is $100 for 8 weeks .

bulletAdvanced Sculling

Two classes are currently meeting Monday and Wednesday afternoon at 5:30pm and on Tuesday/Thursday morning at 6:30am.  Due to darkness this class may be moving later in the morning so stay tuned.

bullet1k Sweep Class

The perfect opportunity to get in the bigger boats and you are looking to fine tune your skills or develop better sweep technique.  No experience required but this is not only for novice.  Class is open to anyone and will meet at a set time each week (Time TBD) 
Cost is $80 for 8 weeks.

bullet2k Sweep Class

Class meets twice a week for rowing at a ‘recreational’ level.  Training, technique, endurance, fitness and some race opportunity will be offered.  Class is designed to be the basis for the competitive racing group and should be considered the base for racing.  Class will meet Tuesday/Thursday at 6:15 with boats hitting the water at 6:30pm.  Come prepared to Row each session.
Cost is $160 for 8 weeks

bullet3k Sweep Class

Class meets three times a week for the more competitive sweep rowers wanting to enhance fitness, endurance, and competitive edge.  Rowing 3 times a week should be considered the minimum for a competitive rower and this program is designed for set crews and those wanting to commit to a team for a season or longer.  Class meets Mon/Tues/Thursday at 6:15pm with launching at 6:30pm.  Erg Sessions will be interspersed as needed and take home work will be also provided.
