Adult Masters Rowing

Master's Programs are for adult rowers 21 and up that have taken at least one session of Adult Novice Rowing or who have previous rowing experience. 

Spring, Summer, & Fall Training

Goal: Improve rowing fundamentals, develop physical fitness, and increase rowing performance on the water.

  • Prior Experience Necessary

  • ORRA Membership Required

  • Coached Sessions are provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:15-8:15pm  

    • Recreational sessions target basic fitness, rowing technique, and enjoyment of the sport of rowing in a less rigorous atmosphere.

    • Competitive sessions provide instruction, technique and fitness focused on higher rates and intensity for rowers who wish to compete regionally and nationally.

  • Multiple Sprint and Head Race opportunities available

  • Cost: $275 (Regatta fees, team travel, and uniforms not included)

    • Note: The Masters have elected to hire coxswains for masters practice sessions. An additional surcharge will be included to cover these costs.

Winter Conditioning

Goal: Improve rowing fundamentals, develop physical fitness, and improve individual performance on the ergometer.

  • No prior experience necessary

  • ORRA Membership Required

  • Multiple options available for both recreational and competitive athletes

  • All participants will be given the option to compete at Tennessee Indoors

Special Note:  ORRA offers its coached programs in seasons. Season start and end dates are below (note the registration deadline for each season).

  • Summer Season: May 29 - August 21, 2018
  • Fall Season: September 4 - November 6, 2018
  • Winter Season: November 27, 2018 - February 7, 2019 (No practice the week of Christmas)
  • Spring Season: February 26 - May 21, 2019

How To Sign UP:

1 - Register for Adult masters on regatta Central under Clubs / Oak Ridge Rowing / Programs & classes.

2 - Are you a Member of ORRA?  Register for ORRA membership on regatta central under clubs / oak ridge rowing / memberships. Questions? Email

3 - Download the ORRA Annual Liability Release Waiver (first page only) and submit to your coach or business office prior to your first row.

4 - If you plan to race in USRowing sponsored events,  you must be an active Championship member of USRowing with a signed waiver.  This is a yearly membership that you can sign up for, renew, or check status at
